Precision is paramount when using any thermostatically controlled heat source, and our energy saving Pulse Thermostat is guaranteed to maintain the required temperature to within 1 degree celsius from around the probe for an accurate thermal gradient.

How they work: Pulse stats are an excellent way to control heaters that do not emit light. They work by sending regular quick pulses of energy to the heater unit, pulsing either harder and faster, or softer and slower depending on the temperature the thermostat is sensing. This kind of stat is obviously not suitable for keepers using spotlight bulb heaters, but they’re ideal for ceramics, heat mats and other heat sources that do not give off light.
